Ziebell on outer as Kangaroos out to win Ratten send-off game

Former North Melbourne skipper Jack Ziebell’s future remains unclear with interim coach Brett Ratten hinting he may miss the trip to Perth to face West Coast.

The Kangaroos are set to regain co-captain Jy Simpkin for Ratten’s final game in charge on Sunday, but he made no guarantees about the experienced Ziebell’s selection despite saying they were hurt by a lack of organisation in defence against St Kilda.

Ratten said the Roos’ match committee had to weigh a need for experience against the height and speed required in defence, adding Ziebell was also dealing with a sore knee.

Ziebell, 32, has played every game this season but started as the sub for three consecutive weeks, with two of those appearances unplanned after injuries forced late changes.
