Six Australians will compete in the year’s second major when the golfing world’s finest take to the Valhalla course in Kentucky.
It’s the fourth time that Valhalla has hosted the major, and some of the previous editions have gone down in history as legendary events: from Rory McIlroy in 2014, his last major title, to Tiger Woods winning a playoff with a walk-in putt in 2000.
This year, the Aussie stars will be hoping to make their own entry into the history books – and former Australian pro Paul Gow and 2006 US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy are backing the Australians to “make some noise” this weekend.
They ran through the hopefuls from down under in Fox Sports’ Aussies at the PGA Championship preview show.
