Stuart Broad and James Anderson, having announced their retirements within a ten-month window, have left a 1304-wicket hole in England’s Test side.
Brendon McCullum’s team is fortunate to have a plethora of seamers at their disposal, with Mark Wood and Chris Woakes expected to lead the Test attack this upcoming summer.
But speaking to Sky Sports this week, Broad warned Anderson’s departure had left a “huge hole” in England’s side that wouldn’t be easily rectified.
“You could easily go into a Test match this summer with a very, very inexperienced bowling group,” Broad said.
