The Cal Poly Humboldt women’s soccer team will be taking a preseason trip to Australia to take part in the festivities of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in addition to scrimmaging against local teams. The trip is a rare opportunity for the Lumberjacks to emulate sports heroes while also aiming to elevate their own play for this coming season.
“I’ve always wanted to do an international trip with the team,” said head coach Grant Landy. “The fact that the World Cup was being played at the same time, I felt like it was gonna give us an opportunity to be part of that event and see the best women players in the world.”
