Sydney Roosters deny they have made an offer to Max Jorgensen, rugby union switch, latest news, rumours, contract

The Sydney Roosters have denied they have offered rugby starlet Max Jorgensen a big-money offer to move to the NRL – but remain interest in poaching the 19-year-old talent at some point.

News Corp reported that the Roosters are preparing a two-year-deal worth $1.8 million, while Rugby Australia are set to over a $1m deal over two years.

The report did not specify which years the Roosters offer would be for.

The Tahs starlet – who has played just 14 Super Rugby matches so far – is off contract at the end of the season, but has spoken of his desire to face the British and Irish Lions next year.

A move in 2026 is more likely, or in 2028 after Australia hosts the Rugby World Cup. Jorgensen was set to feature at the last World Cup before being ruled out after fracturing his leg.
