Josh Schuster has a big contract keeping him at Manly until 2027, but his coach wants to see more from the young gun.
NRL: Anthony Seibold has put the onus on Josh Schuster to get the best out of his career and become the finished product.
Schuster is under pressure to deliver more consistently to justify his $800,000 pay packet and even Seibold conceded the enigmatic five-eighth had shown “glimpses” of the talent that earnt him a contract until the end of 2027.
The Manly coach even credited 22-year old Schuster with getting his team back into last week’s loss to the Sydney Roosters with an impressive second-half surge.
Schuster is likely going to move to the back row next season to accommodate Brooks in the halves with veteran skipper Daly Cherry-Evans.
But with a place in the finals still up for grabs this season, Seibold urged Schuster to deliver more consistently, beginning with Thursday’s clash against reigning premiers Penrith at Brookvale Oval.
