The 2023 NRLW season is underway and is set to take the women’s game to all-new heights.
The introduction of four clubs to the women’s stage and a new streaming deal for the 2023 season has made this year’s competition bigger and more accessible than ever.
Who are the new NRLW teams?
The Cronulla Sharks, Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys, and Wests Tigers have bumped the competition up to 10 teams in 2023.
This lines up with the NRLW’s transition to becoming a professional competition for the first time and allows the premiership to expand to a 9-round, 48-game season.
The most notable inclusion in the new rosters is that of 2021 Dally M joint-winner Emma Tonegato. Her move to the Cronulla Sharks from the Dragons is perhaps the biggest of the off-season and provides the new outfit with proven experience and quality in their inaugural season.
