It’s crunch time for Manly and the Sydney Roosters and both sides are acutely aware of what’s at stake in Thursday night’s NRL showdown at the SCG.
Manly are building momentum after two tight wins over Cronulla and St George Illawarra, but are still well and truly walking the finals tightrope sitting one point out of the top eight.
With massive clashes against Penrith and the Warriors ensuing in the next two rounds before finishing against also-rans Canterbury and likely wooden spooners Wests Tigers, the Sea Eagles know exactly where they stand.
“We can control our own destiny and it’s a really important game for us,” Manly coach Anthony Seibold said on Wednesday.
“We’re still in the race for the top eight. There’s a number of teams who are. We’ve got the opportunity and that’s a really good thing to have at this time of the year.”
