WWE legend Terry Funk dead at 79: Ric Flair and Mick Foley pay tribute

Wrestling legend Terry Funk has died at the age of 79.

The legendary athlete had been battling dementia in recent years and lived in an assisted living facility.

His professional career commenced in the 70s before he rose to prominence in the United States in the 80s.

He had stints across the NWA, WCW, ECW and WWF throughout his historic career that saw him capture multiple world titles.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside his brother Dory in 2009.

Tributes from all over the wrestling industry poured in after news of Funk’s passing was announced.
