Geelong star Tom Hawkins has been left “a little irritated” his new contract has not been signed, former teammate Josh Jenkins revealed, after years of taking pay cuts to keep the Cats’ squad together.
Fox Footy’s Jon Ralph said the three-time premiership forward and Geelong were not “seeing eye-to-eye” over a new deal that would see Hawkins play on for an 18th season.
AFL commentator David King said it was a deal the Cats simply needed to get done.

“Don’t lose the soul of your football club like this,” he warned on Fox Footy’s Trading Day.
“This guy has played 350 games of football – he’s been there forever.
“Don’t allow him to exit like this – just get the deal done.”
