The AFL’s Match Review has to “get real” and balance out bans, Fox Footy’s Mark Robinson says, after Port star Willie Rioli was slapped with a two-match suspension for striking.
Rioli was engaged in a push and shove with Collingwood opponent Nathan Murphy before the forward lashed out and made contact with the Magpie’s head.
Murphy dropped to the Adelaide Oval turf after the contact on Saturday night, but played out the match.

The Match Review officer deemed Rioli’s contact as high, intentional and medium impact, resulting in the two-game ban.
But Robinson was left shocked by the grading of Rioli’s actions.
“That’s not medium impact … I am not an MRP basher at all,” he said on AFL 360.
