Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has doubled down on his decision to move to the Saudi Pro League – insisting he has “no regrets” about his move to the Gulf State despite being booed by England supporters last week.
Henderson found his name in the headlines on Friday when he was booed off by sections of the Wembley crowd during England’s 1-0 victory over Australia. It was the first time the midfielder had played on home soil since sealing a controversial move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq in July.
Speaking to Channel 4 prior to England’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy on Tuesday, Henderson admitted he understood why some supporters of the Three Lions’ fanbase decided to boo him but maintained he has “no regrets” about swapping Anfield for the Middle East.
