Alastair Clarkson future, return to North Melbourne Kangaroos, improved form under caretaker coach Brett Ratten, latest news

Essendon legend Matthew Lloyd believes North Melbourne should consider giving senior coach Alastair Clarkson the rest of the season off to allow him to freshen up mentally before returning for the 2024 season.

AFL journalist Damian Barrett reported Clarkson won’t return to Arden Street before the club’s bye in a fortnight’s time, which would extend his absence due to personal reasons amid the emotional toll of the Hawthorn racism probe out to six weeks.

And speaking on Channel 9’s Footy Classified, Lloyd questioned whether the 2-10 Kangaroos, who’ve shown an uptick in form in three matches under caretaker coach Brett Ratten, would be best served giving Clarkson extended leave.
