AFL: Collingwood premiership forward Jack Ginnivan has requested a shock trade to Victorian rivals Hawthorn.
The Hawks believe they can help the polarising goalsneak produce the level of performance seen in his 40-goal second season after securing him from the Magpies along with pick 39 and their future second and fourth-round selections in exchange for a suite of draft picks.
It comes less than three weeks since he played in Collingwood’s premiership side, with no indication he was looking to play elsewhere in the lead-up to the trade period.
Hawthorn parted with pick 33 and its future second and third-round picks to secure the deal immediately after the final day of trading opened at 2pm on Wednesday.
