Former AFL player Sam Mayes’ partner Cassie Burton has shed light on the ex-utility’s battle with head trauma during and after his time at Port Adelaide.
Mayes played 101 senior games for the Brisbane Lions before being traded to Port Adelaide at the end of 2018 and managed 20 senior games for the Power across four seasons before being delisted at the end of 2022.
Burton expressed frustration on social media with the latest concussion controversy gripping the AFL, which saw Aliir Aliir not immediately tested for concussion despite a brutal head clash with Lachie Jones on Saturday night.
