Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli won his fifth best-and-fairest award, the Charles Sutton Medal, on Wednesday night. He earned 342 votes, surpassing teammate Tom Liberatore and defender Ed Richards. The win brings Bontempelli closer to equaling Scott West’s record of seven wins. Caleb Daniel finished fourth, despite playing mostly in the midfield, and Liam Jones rounded out the top five despite missing two months with a broken arm. Jack Macrae, a consistent on-baller, missed the top 10 for the first time in 10 years.
