A former Carlton footballer was intercepted by police where they allegedly uncovered he was driving suspended with multiple illicit substances in his system.
Mr De Iulio, who played 104 games for the Blues, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court via phone on Wednesday afternoon to face alleged driving and drug offences.
Mr De Iulio was charged with driving while suspended and driving while relevant drugs, namely meth and THC, were in his system.
The 51-year-old was intercepted by Prahran highway patrol on the Monash Freeway at Glen Iris on December 5, 2021.
Court documents allege the Carlton man was suspended from driving at the time and had failed an oral fluid test in the three hours after driving.
