AFL national sides depart for Australia

AFL PNG national teams (PNG Under 19 Binatangs and Kurakums) depart today (July 3) for Australia to take part in the Pacific Australia Sports AFL South Pacific Academy Challenge.

Led by coaches Bill Mark and Valerie Mai as well as recently appointed AFL PNG National Talent Academy Manager Prudence Sindriwen, the two teams will taken on Nauru on Wednesday (July 5).

This one day match also provides the opportunity for players to showcase their talents and impress AFL scouts.

AFL PNG international and Gold Coast Suns player Hewago Paul ‘Ace’ Oea is also an inspiration to both teams given he too went through such similar junior national teams prior to playing for PNG Mosquitoes.
