Country cricket’s best have been recognised with selection in the VCCL Team of the Year for season 2022-23. Here’s who made it and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Star bowler Josh Hazlewood has hailed NSW Cricket for doing a great job finding talented players and nursing them through their youth careers.
Gol Gol star Wade Hancock was named as the captain of the 12 player men’s squad after scoring 694 runs at an average of 11.50 in the Sunraysia Cricket Association last season.
Gisborne’s Jarryd Vernon was named as his deputy.
Meanwhile the association named its first Women’s Team of the Year with the captaincy honours going to Sarah Mannes of Golden Square.
Mannes scored 353 runs at 58.83 last season while taking 10 wickets at 4.93.
