BT Group chief executive Phillip Jansen has confirmed his intention to step down from his role during the next 12 months.
The British telecommunications giant has confirmed that a succession process is now underway to replace Jansen, who has been in his position since February 2019. During his tenure, he played a key role in deciding to offload the company’s pay-TV sports broadcasting business to Warner Bros Discovery, with the deal worth an initial UK£633 million.
“Philip has done an excellent job in his time at BT and the board is fully supportive of our long-term strategy which he and his team are pursuing,” said Adam Crozier, BT Group chairman.
