The Matildas’ historic World Cup run has quickly encapsulated the entire nation, as they became the first senior national football team to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals, and are showing no signs of slowing down.
The team has been demolishing viewership records left, right, and centre, and their Wednesday night semi-final clash against England is shaping up to be an absolute ratings juggernaut.
One group of people who have made sure they can catch the game are the Boomers, Australia’s men’s national basketball team, who have had a friendly match against Brazil rescheduled as it clashed with the Matildas game.
The Boomers Wednesday game against Brazil at Rod Lavar Arena was initially planned to be played at 7:45pm, but will now be played at 5:30pm to accommodate the Matildas game at 8:00pm 🇦🇺
