‘Unsustainable workloads’ is number one teaching issue

Independent Education Union Assistant Federal Secretary Brad Hayes says the number one issue leading to teacher-burn out and shortages is the “unsustainable workloads”.

Mr Hayes said the red-tape and bureaucratic intrusions into the classroom seriously impact the teaching profession.

“That’s what’s really sucking the life out of the teaching profession,” he told Sky News Australia.

“It’s driving teachers out of the job they love.”
