The Atlanta Hawks won’t report for training camp until late September, right along with the rest of the NBA but several Hawks players are taking part in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
One of those players, veteran Patty Mills, has been playing at a very high level through three games, notching 20-plus points in back-to-back outings for Australia. In the wake of his latest showing on August 27, new teammate and Hawks star Trae Young took notice.
“Talk your shiii,” Young said in a quote tweet of Mills’ highlights. “Crazzzy combo too!!”
Despite the outburst from Mills, 34, the Boomers fell 85-82 to a talented German squad with Mills and former Hawk Dennis Schroder playing integral roles.
