Tennis Australia pushes for inclusive rules for transgender athletes

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley has made contact with the WTA and the ITF about creating inclusive rules for transgender athletes, adding the regulations must also be made with diversity and equality in mind.

Three-time Olympic women’s cyclist Inga Thompson has called on female cyclists to protest competitions with competing trans athletes – as it is a “responsibility” of female athletes to stand up, says Women’s Forum CEO Rachel Wong.

“No doubt it’s because they’re in fear of losing their jobs and fear of you know being vilified and cancelled,” Ms Wong told Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi.

“But the reality is we’re not going to see enough movement on this issue until sports professionals actually stand up on this.
