“Eat My..”- Nick Kyrgios Sparks Heated Debate After FIFA Women’s World Cup as Australia Finishes Fourth in the Tournament

The FIFA Women’s World Cup was an exciting time for soccer lovers. Teams gave it their all on the pitch, including the Australian team, who dazzled the fans with their brilliance. Despite finishing fourth in the now-concluded tournament, they have won accolades from others, including Nick Kyrgios. However, his reaction to commemorating the team with a statue has sparked a debate online. 

The women’s team, also called The Matildas enjoyed a fabulous run on home soil. But they were unable to overcome England, losing 1-3 to the Lionesses in the semifinal. Further, heartbreak awaited them as they lost 0-2 against Sweden in the 3rd place match.

The Queensland Government decided to celebrate the women’s team’s achievement by erecting a statue. While Kyrgios acknowledged their efforts, he is not on board with the idea, and thinks it is “nuts.”
