Warriors star Shaun Johnson has reflected on his distinguished rugby league career in a wide-ranging interview on Fox League, including the heartbreak he felt when told by a former team his services were no longer required.

Johnson enjoyed arguably his best season in 2023, leading the Warriors to a surprise top four finish and going agonisingly close to winning his first Dally M medal, just one point behind winner Kalyn Ponga.

A proud Kiwi, Johnson burst onto the scene with the Warriors as a 20-year-old, and played 152 games for the club over eight seasons before linking up with the Sharks in 2019.
