PNG Kumuls prop Wellington Albert said it is good to see more PNG rugby league players playing professional footy in England.
Coming off at the back of winning the 2023 Betfred Championship grand final with London Broncos and being promoted to Super League next year, he said the opportunity being given by English clubs to PNG rugby league talents is a step in the right direction as they are given not much opportunity by NRL clubs.
Sharing the forward pack workload with Albert at London Broncos is fellow PNG Kumuls teammate Emmanuel Waine. He (Waine) has been a forward livewire coming off the bench.
“Emmanuel has been pretty good for us at London Broncos.
He has that impact off the bench every time when he gets on the field and he’s been good for the club. Unfortunately, he got injured and was out for three months, came back right on time for the finals and he was one of the impact bench players.”
