Newcastle United vs. A-League All Stars final score, result and highlights as Magpies hit for eight goals in embarrassing performance

Newcastle United have been embarrassed 8-0 by the A-League All Stars in a friendly match at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.

With a second-string team missing all of their regular first-team players, the Premier League side were second-best throughout the first half, finding themselves 3-0 down at the break – and it could have been four or five goals.

The Magpies put in an improved performance early in the second period but once the A-League All Stars scored a fourth goal they dropped the hammer on Newcastle United, scoring five goals in a barnstorming second half.

The A-League All Stars stamped their authority on the match as soon as it started and it only took five minutes for the first goal to come.
