Fox League journalist James Hooper has lashed out at RLPA boss Clint Newton, suggesting the players wrap gaffer tape around his mouth instead of using it to cover the NRL and NRLW logos this weekend.
NRL players are launching a media blackout following 20 months of dramatic negotiations on overpay and conditions.
The media blackout is set to impact the Sharks vs Tigers game tonight and next week’s State of Origin final.
All players will cover up the NRL and NRLW logo on their jerseys during this weekend’s matches in a further stance against the organisation over ongoing discussions between the RLPA and the body.
The stance is in addition to the media boycott currently being carried out by the players as the RLPA and NRL’s CBA talks remain at a standstill.
