Australia’s home World Cup campaign gets underway on Thursday night against the Republic of Ireland.
The 10th ranked Matildas enter the tournament on a high after taking down the fifth ranked France in front of a raucous Melbourne crowd in their final hit out.
Drawn in Group B, the Aussie outfit will face off against 22nd ranked Ireland, 40th ranked Nigeria before going up against powerhouse seventh ranked Canada.
The expanded tournament means there will be 64 total matches played across Australia and New Zealand before the tournament wraps up with the final on August 20.
