Steve Smith is the latest Australian under an injury cloud as the team’s fitness crisis deepens ahead of the third ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday night (7pm AEST).
The batter injured his left quad in Australia’s defeat against Sri Lanka in the second ODI that left the five-match series tied 1-1.
Smith could miss the third match with Josh Inglis or Cameron Green in line to join Australia’s XI, which has already delt with injuries to Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Kane Richardson, Ashton Agar, Mitch Marsh and Sean Abbott.
