Remembering Ken Tarling, a successful golf professional both on and off the golf course

One of the Canadian golf community’s nicest people, Ken Tarling, was laid to rest last week.

Born in Saskatoon and raised in Grimsby, Ont., Tarling left an indelible mark on the game in this country that combined talent, passion and smarts as a tour player, PGA of Canada professional, swing instructor, administrator and professor in Humber College’s Professional Golf Management Program.

“He excelled in every area as a professional,” wrote Kevin Thistle, the PGA of Canada’s chief executive officer in a note. “He was a PGA of Canada member for 41 years and a longtime member of the PGA of Canada board of directors who had the trust and respect of so many across our industry.
