Ryder Cup attendees will be digging deep into the pockets ahead of this weekend’s highly-anticipated event at Rome’s Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.
The cost of food and beverages at the venue have raised eyebrows, with a beer costing golf fans €8 (about AU$13), while even a bottle of water will set you back about $6.50.
Cocktails are, unsurprisingly, even more expensive, with a negroni costing €18, which equates to almost $30. Mamma Mia.
And if you’re after a bite to eat, a burger will set you back €19,90 ($32.80) – but you get to choose from beef, chicken and vegetarian options. Other food vendors will be selling octopus panini, olive ascolane and gelato.
