Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins will be sweating on the Match Review after a driving tackle appeared to concuss St Kilda’s Darragh Joyce on Saturday evening.
Joyce was subbed out of the game with head injury concerns after being caught from behind by Hawkins in the final term of the match at GMHBA Stadium.
The Match Review Officer Michael Christian will consider whether the tackle was slinging, rotating or driving and whether the opposition player was vulnerable.

The force will also be considered, which will hurt Hawkins’ chances of getting off given Joyce was concussed.
Another question will be whether the tackle was reasonable in the circumstances; and given Joyce had disposed of the ball, this may work against the champion Cats forward too.
