There’s reportedly set to be ample movement from defenders in this year’s trade period.

It could be headlined by star West Coast backman Tom Barrass moving to Sydney, which SEN’s Sam Edmund reports is “close to a formality” despite the 27-year old being contracted at the embattled Eagles until 2026.

Barrass’ manager Nick Gieschen from Connor Sports last week said on SEN Breakfast you “never say never” on a potential trade despite the premiership defender being “settled in Perth.”

Multiple reports earlier this month suggested Barrass, who received strong interest from the Swans in 2021 before re-signing with the Eagles, was more likely to depart West Coast than remain at the 18th-placed club.
