Colin Carter has shared a vigorous debate with Tasmanian and veteran sports journalist Tim Lane amid the release of the former’s report into the viability of Tasmanian football.
Carter’s long-awaited report, released to the public on Friday, recommended the most viable options for the state’s entry into the competition would be relocating an existing team or a Melbourne-based club playing most of its games in the Apple Isle, with a standalone 19th team a third but less financially viable option.
With Carter appearing on 3AW on Friday night, he and Lane engaged in a spirited back-and-forth about the report’s findings and the best way forward for Tasmania.
