Ross Lyon has identified “a variety of reasons” behind his decision to turn down Collingwood after it attempted to gauge his interest in its vacant coaching position.
Lyon on Wednesday night confirmed on Channel 9’s Footy Classified that Magpies football boss Graham Wright had reached out to him via a third party and “respectfully” declined entertaining the senior coach role.
The Pies have been on the lookout for a full-time senior since Nathan Buckley and the club parted ways midway through this season.
