Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that Tottenham and Chelsea will both benefit from a “massive advantage” this season by not playing in Europe.
Both Spurs and Chelsea failed to qualify for the Conference League, Europa League or Champions League last term, meaning that they have fewer matches to play over the course of the 2023-24 campaign. Liverpool, meanwhile, are playing in the Europa League, a competition which Klopp is already concerned could overload some of his stars given the increased fixture congestion.
