ST MARY’S has come from the brink of defeat to run over the top of Waratah and claim an unbelievable three-point win in Round 2 of the NTFL Men’s Premier League competition. The Saints trailed at every break by at least two goals, but a five goals to two final term resulted in the green and gold pinching the win via a Beau Tedcastle goal, 14.10 (94) to 13.13 (91).
It was an incredible performance from St Mary’s who was coming off a disappointing Round 1 loss to Nightcliff, while Waratah had a significantly easier game, destroying Southern District by 88 points. The Tahs continued that form into Round 2, kicking four goals to two in the opening term to lead by 12 points at the first break.
