Outgoing AFL chief Gillon McLachlan’s final address — delivered at a Grand Final lunch before a room of pollies and high-fliers — was peppered with zingers.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, newly elected Victorian premier Jacinta Allan and Seven West owner Kerry Stokes and his son Ryan were all guests in the AFL Commission Lunch in the Olympic Room.
They heard the final address of Gillon McLachlan before he departs the role of CEO on Monday.
AFL commission chairman Richard Goyder paid tribute to McLachlan whose passion and commitment would be missed.
McLachlan was roasted for his lengthy week of farewells but still had some zingers up his sleeve.
