The Ligue 1 and Eredivisie seasons will begin for a number of our Subway Socceroos over the weekend while other Australians hit the ground running and found the back of the net in the EFL Cup midweek.

Starting in England, where Riley McGree came off the bench in the 74th minute to score Middlesbrough’s third goal in a 3-2 win over Huddersfield in the EFL Cup on Wednesday morning.
Fellow Socceroo Tom Glover made his debut as he started his first match in goal while Subway Olyroo Sammy Silvera played 86 minutes and got in on the scoring act after he slotted home the opener in the 20th minute.
Middlesbrough look to bounce back from their opening-day defeat when they travel to Coventry on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST).
