Tasmanian Labor has finally handed down its position on the bill to amend the state’s planning laws which would see parliament given the final say on the AFL project.
Former NBA Championship Player Andrew Bogut says politics in sports “divides” all workers and fans and the AFL supporting the Voice to Parliament is separating everyone.
Tasmanian Labor and the Greens said they would vote in favour of government legislation to amend the state’s Project of State Significance process, a policy the AFL deal is covered by.
The deal Premier Jeremy Rockliff signed with the AFL paves the way for a new stadium built in Hobart’s Macquarie Point by 2028, and its own license to play in the league.
The changes to legislation means parliament would be given the final say on the project, with debate on the state’s planning laws to continue throughout the week after it returned from the winter…
