The AFL is set to make a massive change to its Grand Final traditional with a bold decision set to spark plenty of debate.
The yearly debate over whether the premiership decider should remain in its traditional 2:30pm AEST timeslot, or move later in the day in a bid to improve the TV ratings, is set to be sparked once again.
Speaking at the SportNXT conference on Wednesday, AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said a decision would be made by the AFL Commission “in the coming weeks”.

Earlier in March speaking on Fox Footy’s AFL 360 he said “as someone who is a traditionalist (about keeping it in the day) … I have noticed just out there that people are a bit more receptive to having a look at something else.”
