St Kilda legend Nick Riewoldt and AFL 360 co-host Gerard Whateley have heaped praise on Carlton star and Indigenous advocate Eddie Betts for his courageous plea against racism.
An emotional Betts fought back tears on Fox Footy’s AFL 360 on Tuesday as he issued a heartfelt message to the AFL world and wider community to stamp out racism, saying: “I’m sick of fighting, it’s draining.”
His comments followed former Crows teammate Taylor Walker getting hit with a six-game suspension and $20,000 fine last week for making a racial slur towards North Adelaide player Robbie Young during a SANFL game in July.
