Justin Langer’s duties within the Australian cricket team are up for debate as details about crisis talks between senior figures emerge.
Captains Tim Paine and Aaron Finch, vice-captain Pat Cummins, Cricket Australia chief Nick Hockley and chair Earl Eddings met last week to clear the air amid reports of Langer losing the Australian dressing room.
Paine described the talks as “robust”, and the meeting resulted in the full backing of Langer who is set to lead Australia through the T20 World Cup and Ashes until his contract expires in mid-2022.
But in what capacity Langer does so is reportedly subject to change as CA considers alterations that would push him towards the background.
