The community members were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet their favorite players and get up close and personal with them.“I’ve been a fan of the Jazz for years, so to be able to see them practice and meet them in person is a dream come true,” said a local fan named Keoni. “I never thought they would come to Hawaii, so this is really special.”The scrimmage was not only a chance for the players to practice and bond as a team, but also an opportunity to give back to the community. The Jazz organization donated a significant amount of money to the BYU-Hawaii athletics department, which will help support their sports programs.“We are grateful for the support from the Jazz and their generosity,” said James Hahm, the athletic director at BYU-Hawaii. “This donation will greatly benefit our student-athletes and allow us to provide them with the resources they need to succeed.”Overall, the scrimmage was a resounding success. The players got the chance to practice in a new environment and connect with their fans, while the community members were able to witness high-level basketball up close. It was a win-win situation for everyone involved.“It’s been an incredible experience,” said Jazz guard Mike Conley. “The people here in Hawaii have been amazing, and I’m so grateful for the support we’ve received. It’s really nice to be able to connect with our fans in a different way and give back to the community.”The Jazz will continue their training camp in Hawaii for a few more days before returning to Utah for the start of the regular season.
