this as a mini training camp, even though it’s only a few days.”
Hardy emphasized the importance of developing a deep roster rotation during the preseason, as it will allow the team to be flexible and adapt to different situations throughout the regular season.
“We want to have the ability to play different lineups, different combinations of guys,” Hardy said. “I think that’ll be the strength of our team, is that we’ll have so many different guys that can step in and contribute.”
He mentioned that the team has been experimenting with different lineup combinations during the preseason in order to find the best fit for each player and maximize their strengths.
“We’ve been trying different combinations of guys in different positions,” Hardy said. “We want to make sure that we have the right combinations when it really counts.”
Hardy believes that having a deep roster will also help the team overcome any potential injuries and keep a high level of play.
“It’s a long season and injuries can happen,” Hardy said. “So, having that deep roster gives us the flexibility to still play at a high level even if someone goes down.”
The Jazz are also focusing on improving their defense during the preseason. Hardy mentioned that they have been working on their defensive schemes and rotations to become a more cohesive unit.
“We want to be able to communicate and trust each other on defense,” Hardy said. “That’s something we’ve been really working on during practice.”
Hardy highlighted the importance of having a strong defensive presence, especially against teams with dominant offensive players.
“We know that there are going to be nights where we’re going to face some really talented offensive teams,” Hardy said. “So, being able to lock down defensively is going to be crucial for us.”
In addition to their focus on defense, the Jazz are also working on their offensive game plan. Hardy mentioned that they have been installing new plays and getting comfortable with different offensive sets.
“We want to have multiple options on offense,” Hardy said. “Being able to execute different plays and take what the defense gives us is going to be important.”
Overall, Hardy is satisfied with the progress the team has made during the preseason and is looking forward to the regular season.
“I think we’ve made some good strides,” Hardy said. “We still have some work to do, but I like where we’re at right now.”
He mentioned that the team is excited to finally play in front of their home crowd and showcase their improvements.
“We love playing in front of our fans,” Hardy said. “It’s going to be great to have that energy and support when we start the regular season.”
The Jazz will kick off their regular season on October 20 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are optimistic about their chances and believe that their hard work during the preseason will pay off.
“We’re excited about what this team can accomplish,” Hardy said. “We have a lot of talent and potential. It’s going to be a great season.”
