They say timing is everything. Well, the timing sure seems to be right for the Kent State men’s basketball team to take an overseas trip, which it will do for the first time in five years starting this week.
The Golden Flashes will play three exhibition games during a 10-day trek in Australia, which starts on Wednesday and continues through August 13. They were permitted to practice 10 times in preparation for the trip, giving a Kent State team fresh off a stellar close to the 2021-22 season time to mesh and bond before the official start of the 2022-23 campaign in October.
“Last year at this time we didn’t take a trip, we just worked individually. This year’s trip gives us a chance to actually play together,” said redshirt senior point guard Sincere Carry, who earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors in 2021-22 after transferring to the Flashes from…
