Josh Green goes down with an ankle injury for Dallas Mavericks, latest news on Australian NBA players

Just as Dante Exum was starting to ramp up after his return from injury, the Dallas Mavericks look to have lost fellow Australian Josh Green in a crushing blow.

Green went down “writhing in pain” according to TNT commentator Brian Anderson during Dallas’ game against Oklahoma City on Friday after stepping on teammate Dereck Lively II’s foot and rolling his right ankle.

Green was swiftly ruled out by the Mavericks with a right ankle sprain. Dallas was already without Luka Doncic (hamstring), with Exum getting the start in his place.

Both Exum and Green had previously been featuring off the bench with Mavericks coach Jason Kidd opting to start Derrick Jones Jr. instead.
