Novak Djokovic will take time off following the Australian Open to recover from a muscle tear and admits the difficult lead-up to the tournament impacted him.
The nine-time champion suffered an abdominal injury during his third-round win over Taylor Fritz, with many analysts confused as to its severity given he went on to win the tournament.
Djokovic was unwilling to expand on the injury during the event but after beating Daniil Medvedev in the final, said an MRI confirmed he had torn a muscle.
